Restored Wellness Counseling

FAQ

One thing that makes Restored Wellness Counseling special is the wide range of therapy services we offer in the Greater Sacramento area and throughout California. We have a therapist for just about everything. To find out how we can better help you, please contact Restored Wellness Counseling today.

The total duration of therapy varies from client to client. Some of our clients find 3-6 weeks to be enough to resolve immediate challenges. While other clients feel more supported by longer-term therapy. You can work together with your therapist to find the length of time that works for you.

Overall, you can think of the first session as a free-flowing conversation through which you and your therapist can start getting to know each other. Your therapist will invite you to share more about yourself, and you can also share what’s worked or not worked for your mental health in the past. Some questions that your therapist may ask during a first session include:

  • What brought you to therapy?
  • What goals would you like to reach by going to therapy?
  • What do I need to know about you to understand your current challenges?

The most important part of a first session is to notice how you feel during and after the session. If you feel supported, seen, and at ease with your therapist, you can discuss if you’d like to meet again.

Restored Wellness Counseling has a wide range of therapists to choose from. Our clients can either choose to work directly with one of our Independently Licensed Therapists or work with an Associate Therapist who is supervised by an Independently Licensed Therapist. There is a separate hourly rate for both. Please check out our Rates & Insurance page to learn more.

Therapists have a rigorous training program. In addition to completing their master’s degree, they obtain 3,000 hours of clinical experience, have weekly clinical supervision, and pass two licensing exams. Once licensed, they complete ongoing continuing education throughout their careers.

Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFT), Registered Associate Social Workers (ASW), and Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCC) are in the process of working toward licensure.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC) are fully licensed and participate in continuing education to maintain their license.

Our student interns are pursuing their doctorate degree in psychology (PsyD) at California Northstate University.

As part of their degree program, they complete internships to gain clinical experience and participate in weekly clinical supervision with our supervisors.

We offer additional trainings for our interns to ensure they have the skill to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Therapy with our interns is offered at a reduced rate. Please reach out to our office to inquire about rates.
